G re et in gs There have always been creative farmers Today they are characterized by extensive knowledge as well as openness to new ideas and societal challenges Whether climate change changing societal expectations or structural changes in rural areas the demands on modern agriculture are high In order to meet these demands in a forward looking manner we need new concepts and methods that provide important impetus for sustainable development of our agriculture and food industry This booklet therefore gives you an insight into interesting projects that have emerged from the diverse and intensive cooperation between farmers researchers consultants and companies in the agricultural and food sector EIP has been a great success in Schleswig Holstein With this funding measure we can initiate innovation processes and speed up the search for solutions to contemporary issues in agricultural production and marketing We need to offer incentives so that innovations spread more quickly in practice We do this by specifically supporting collaboration between science and agriculture I am pleased that we can again offer EIP Agri support in the new funding period from 2023 We have firmly anchored EIP in Schleswig Holstein in the state programme for EAFRD implementation In current financial plan a total of 11 6 million Euros are earmarked for this from 2023 until 2027 While EIP started rolling with some delay in many regions we were the pioneers in Schleswig Holstein This is only possible with the commitment of everyone involved I would like to thank the responsible lead partners and the members of the Innovationsbüro EIP Agrar team in particular Let us continue to move forward together when it comes to innovative solutions for agriculture in Schleswig Holstein and Europe Werner Schwarz Minister for of Agriculture Rural Areas European Affairs and Consumer Protection INNOVATIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE Greeting 6
